Getting to Puerto Galera

getting to puerto galera

How to Get to Puerto Galera from Manila, using our VIP Express Transport Service, or by Public Transport.

If you are travelling from overseas and have just arrived at Manila airport, there are a couple of options on how to continue your journey to Puerto Galera. Factors you may want to consider are: your budget for the next leg of the journey, and what time of day/night you have arrived in Manila.

The journey from Manila to Bantangas (where you will catch a boat to Puerto Galera) can take between 1.5 and 3 hours, depending on traffic. You will need to keep this in mind if you plan on using the public outrigger ferry service from Batangas to Puerto Galera, as the last boat leaves Batangas at around 4.30-5.00pm.

If you are going to take a private outrigger (organised by us), it doesn’t matter what time you arrive in Batangas, as our boat will be standing by waiting for your arrival.

Our VIP Private Express  Transfer Service

how to get to puerto galeraOur private air-conditioned minivan will collect you and your luggage from Manila airport, or your hotel, and transport you in comfort to Batangas, where your private outrigger boat will be waiting for you.

After boarding the boat, the trip across to Puerto Galera (directly to our resort) takes approximately 1 hour.

The VIP Express Transport Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year, but please note:

If, due to bad weather or other unforeseeable circumstances, it is necessary to stay in Batangas (a pretty rare occurrence), then you will be required to cover the cost of the hotel stay in Batangas. However, you will not be charged for your rooms at Scandi Divers Resort over the same period.

From Manila airport Terminal 1

If you request that we pick you up at the airport, this is how you will find your driver:

When you come out of the arrival terminal, you cross the pavement, and on the other side there are tunnels going off to the left and right that go down to the level below. Both the tunnel on the left and on the right go down to that same level, but you should take the one on the right. When you get down you will arrive at a platform from which you will be picked up. Above, there are signs like ABCD, EFGH, IJKL and so on. Place yourself under the one that includes an “S” (for “Scandi Divers”), and keep an eye out for a chauffeur with a Scandi Divers sign and/or your name on it.

The image below shows what you will see when exiting international arrivals. Follow the arrow to the right to meet your driver.

Get to Puerto Galera using Public Transport

how to get to puerto galeraThere are daily bus routes between Manila and Batangas Harbor. The most convenient, and safe, of these is the SiKat combined bus and ferry service.

The bus leaves daily at 8:00 AM (but you need to check in at 7:30) from the City State Tower on Mabini Street in Ermita (not far from Manila airport). This bus will take you directly to Batangas Harbor, and from there you will be guided to the SiKat outrigger ferry which will take you to Puerto Galera harbour.

From Puerto Galera harbour, you can rent a small outrigger boat (Banka) to take you to Big La Laguna Beach, directly in front of our resort, or take a public jeepney to Sabang and take a ten minute walk to our resort (not recommended if you have heavy luggage!)
